Wes Craven was recently at the San Diego Comic Con and he was discussing his latest film 25/8. The movie will focus on a serial killer returning to his hometown to stalk seven children who share the same birthday as the date he was allegedly put to rest.
This movie actually sounds a lot like Halloween to me, but it's Wes Craven so we can expect a decent horror movie.
There are also several other projects that Craven seems to either be connected to or fans are waiting for him to be official connected to.
Some of these projects that are official and have been recently announced at Comic Con '08 and they are Scream 4, Last House on the Left (remake) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (remake)
According to Internet Movie Database Craven has said he has not been contacted to direct the recently announced Scream 4.
He also stated that Bob Weinstein (the producer of the Scream series) has contacted his agent and if he is offered the job he will not say no.
Yet, Craven is looking for a script that is actually complete. During the production of Scream 2 and 3 there was a lot of changes and work being done to the scripts as they filmed and it seems he doesn't want to go through that again.
The Nightmare on Elm Street remake has officially casted a writer, Wesley Strick who has wrote movies such as Cape Fear, Arachnophobia and Wolf.
What we know officially about the movie is that it will be a re-imagining of the dream killer, Freddy Krueger. No one can officially say if it will be all about Freddy or a true remake of the original horror classic.
As for Last House on the Left it's already in post-production and will be released to theaters March 6, 2009.
